Following three critically acclaimed albums with the Belfast-based band The 2:19, Chris Chalmers and Marty Young unveil their first project as Chris Chalmers and the Souvenirs. Their debut release, Way Back Home, marks a new creative era for the longtime collaborators.

Recording began in April 2025 at Chris’s family home in Belfast—situated on the very street where he and Marty grew up. The pair performed nearly every instrument on the record themselves, while welcoming a select group of friends for key
contributions.

The album features backing vocals from Suzy Coyle of California Irish, harmonica by Paul Winn of DC Blues, and organ work from John McCullough, celebrated for his collaborations with Van Morrison and many others.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely by Marty Young at home, Way Back Home offers a rich, intimate sound shaped by the duo’s wide-ranging musical influences. The album’s lyrics carry a reflective tone, delving into the complexities of family relationships and the emotional terrain of their shared past.
